Library Collection. Drawings
Baptistery, the Cathedral, the leaning tower and the Campo Santo at Pisa
Hakewill, James, 1778-1843 (draftsman)
17 July 1816
1 drawing : graphite ; 13.9 x 21.4 cm.
The mechanical drawing of the cathedral and leaning tower contrasts with the much more effective freehand treatment of the baptistery on the left, in which sun and shade are depicted.
The drawing was glued on a cardboard, originally numbered 2.32, and kept in a portfolio. Title from note on the original cardboard. Forms part of: Library Collection. Drawings.
