Rome, the Apollo Belvedere

The Apollo was found by Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere in 1495 on his farm near Grottaferrata and put by him into the Cortile del Belvedere when he became Pope Julius II.
The drawing was glued on a cardboard, originally numbered 5M.20, and kept in a portfolio. On the verso is a rough pencil sketch. Title from note on the original cardboard. Forms part of: Library Collection. Drawings.
