Near Mittenwald in the Tyrol
Hakewill, James, 1778-1843 (draftsman)
1817
1 drawing : graphite ; 13.8 x 21.5 cm.
On the way from Innsbruck to Garmish-Partenkirchen, Hakewill passed along the valley of the Isar, through Mittenwald, where he did this outline sketch, perhaps, judging by the uncertain lines, while his carriage was moving.
The drawing was glued on a cardboard, originally numbered 6.55, and kept in a portfolio. Title from note on the original cardboard. Forms part of: Library Collection. Drawings.
